ACCOMMODATION
Luxurious Java safari-style tents, each with a view of the nearby dam. Open-plan design includes a writing desk, seating area, bedroom, and en-suite bathroom with private WC. Enjoy a free-standing bath, inside and outside shower, all with stunning dam views. Immerse yourself in the scents of Africa with provided amenities.
GAME DRIVES
Experience two daily safari game drives, morning and late afternoon. A spacious game viewer comfortably seats 8 guests for immersive wildlife encounters. Knowledgeable field guides lead each safari, sharing insights on animals, birds, and vegetation. Safety briefing provided before your first safari adventure.
SPA ON SAFARI
Indulge in a blissful massage in your safari tent, transforming it into a sanctuary of relaxation. Experienced therapists offer massages to de-stress, rejuvenate, and revitalize. Book treatments in advance or at reception (subject to availability).
BUSH WALKS
Join a short morning bushwalk after breakfast to explore smaller animals and vegetation. Guests must be physically capable of walking for about 1 hour and fluent in English. Ages 16 to 60 allowed; medical certificate required for guests over 60.
About the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
The TPNR is within the Greater Kruger open system. The Reserve falls within the internationally declared Kruger 2 Canyons UNESCO Man and Biosphere, and within the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTCA).

The TPNR also forms part of the Associated Private Nature Reserves (APNR), which is a conglomerate of privately owned nature reserves. In 1993, fences between Associated Private Nature Reserves and the Kruger National Park were removed to encourage wildlife migration, and the Greater Kruger National Park was born.

WHAT IS THE CONSERVATION LEVY USED FOR? The Conservation Levy is used entirely in the funding of the operational activities of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. 10% of all Conservation Levy income is used for community development projects through the Timbavati Foundation. CHECK IN / OUT: Check in: Between 12:00 and 14:00, enjoy high tea before embarking on your afternoon game drive. Check out: At 11:00, after your morning game drive and breakfast. CHILD POLICY: Children of 12 years and older are welcome in the camp at the adult rate. They may participate in all game drives, but not bushwalks. There is one luxury tent that can be converted to accommodate 3 persons – please double- check if this is available at the time of booking. Children of all ages are welcome when the whole camp is booked as a villa option – please enquire for a special rate. GETTING TO THE CAMP: Your options are either self-drive, a 6.5-hour road transfer from OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg or to fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport and be transferred to the camp an hour away. Please do ask and we can help you organize transfers.
